Nail Surgery: Bidding Farewell to Stubborn Ingrown Toenails!

Hey there, tired of battling those relentless ingrown toenails? We totally get it! Our patients are constantly asking about more permanent solutions, and we're here to spill the beans:

So, What's Nail Surgery All About?

Picture this: it's the removal of some or all of your toenail. Yup, when you've been dealing with ongoing pain, discomfort, or nasty infections, this could be the ticket out of your toe trouble.

Why Might You Need This Surgery?

Well, when all else fails, and your toe is still giving you grief, our podiatrists might suggest this route. Think of it as the ultimate solution when those conservative treatments just aren't cutting it anymore.

What's the Procedure Like?

First things first, we'll numb up your toe with a little local anaesthetic so you won't feel a thing during the procedure. Then, we'll bid adieu to that troublesome nail. And just to make sure it doesn't come back to haunt you, we'll apply a special chemical to the nail bed to prevent regrowth.

Can You Eat and Drink Beforehand?

Absolutely! Eat as usual before you head in. Oh, and don't forget to take your regular meds, unless your doctor or podiatrist says otherwise. And also bring any essentials like your trusty inhaler in your bag – better safe than sorry, right?

How Long Will You Be in the Chair?

Plan for about an hour or so. Afterward, it's open-toe shoe season for a bit until your toe feels back to normal. Oh, and expect a little wait in the waiting area for about 30 minutes post-procedure.

Can You Hit the Road Right After?

Not so fast! You'll need someone else behind the wheel until your toe gets its feeling back. So, line up a ride beforehand.

What Can You Expect After Surgery?

Once that numbing wears off, your toe might feel a bit tender, and there could be a bit of bleeding for a bit when you get home. But no worries, a little paracetamol should sort you right out if you're feeling any discomfort.

So there you have it, folks! Nail surgery might just be the key to kicking those stubborn toenail troubles to the curb. 🦶
